Bitfarms has strengthened its high-performance computing (HPC) and AI infrastructure with the acquisition of Stronghold, expanding its energy portfolio to 623 megawatts under management. The deal also adds 165 megawatts of active generation capacity and 142 megawatts of available import capacity, securing a 1.1-gigawatt growth pipeline in Pennsylvania. The expansion aims to lower electricity costs through PJM demand response programs while rebalancing Bitfarms’ energy portfolio to 80% North America and 20% international by the end of 2025. The company will also develop two power campuses totaling nearly one gigawatt for HPC/AI, prioritizing Stronghold sites for future conversions.

Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR) has launched its latest Bitcoin mining machines, the SEALMINER A2 Pro series, offering an industry-leading power efficiency ratio of 14.9 J/TH. The series includes two models: SEALMINER A2 Pro Air (255TH/s to 270TH/s) and SEALMINER A2 Pro Hyd (500TH/s to 530TH/s). The A2 Pro Hyd is optimized for high-temperature environments, operating at inlet water temperatures up to 60°C. Both models boast a power supply efficiency of up to 97% and a low-noise design, ensuring stable and efficient mining. Bitdeer continues to drive innovation in the mining industry, delivering cutting-edge solutions with a focus on efficiency, stability, and reliability.

The Arkansas Cryptomining Association has filed a lawsuit against state officials, alleging unconstitutional discrimination against foreign-born American citizens in the crypto-mining industry. The lawsuit, filed on March 13 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, names Attorney General Tim Griffin and Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission Director Lawrence Bengal as defendants. The complaint challenges "Rule K" and "Act 174," which prohibit businesses controlled by foreign parties from operating in the state. The association argues that these regulations grant state officials excessive discretion, leading to arbitrary enforcement. The case follows a federal ruling last November that temporarily blocked Arkansas from barring a naturalized US citizen of Chinese descent from operating a crypto mining business.

Hive Digital has announced an ambitious expansion plan in Paraguay. During a roundtable discussion with The Street, Hive Digital Executive Chairman Frank Holmes revealed that the company aims to increase its operational capacity in the country by 400%. Holmes emphasized Paraguay’s abundant hydroelectric resources as a key advantage, noting that the company’s operations will grow at an unprecedented rate over the next nine months. He highlighted that Paraguay provides an ideal environment for expansion, as the government benefits from Bitcoin mining investments. The country’s energy surplus from the Itaipu Dam, which was previously sold at lower rates to Brazil, will now be redirected to Bitcoin mining firms paying in U.S. dollars at a higher exchange rate.

According to a Reuters report on March 5, U.S. authorities have started releasing some cryptocurrency mining equipment that had been seized in recent months. Taras Kulyk, CEO and co-founder of Synteq Digital, stated that "thousands of machines have been released," although as many as 10,000 units had been held at various ports. Ethan Vera, COO of Luxor Technology, also confirmed that while some shipments have been released, the process remains slow. The equipment had been under regulatory scrutiny for months, particularly due to concerns over Chinese-made chips used in the mining machines.
